Answer these questions about your SENIOR year of high school! The longer ago it was, the more fun the answers will be!!

1. Did you date someone from your school?

Yes.

2. Did you marry someone from your high school?

Yes, I did. Almost 22 years and counting!

3. Did you car pool to school?

I either drove or my mom dropped me off.

4. What kind of car did you have?

I had a dark blue 1980 Dodge Omni. I still miss that car!

5. What kind of car do you have now?

A gold 1998 Ford Windstar minivan.

6. It's Friday night...where are you (then)?

Rehearsal, doing homework, or talking on the phone.

7. It is Friday night...where are you (now)?

Home with my kids and husband!

8. What kind of job did you have in high school?

1. Outside Order Taker at Wendy's
2. Talking Christmas Tree for Dayton's
3. Employee Service Center Attendant at Target

9. What kind of job do you do now?

I'm a Web Content Manager for a major health care insurance provider.

10. Were you a party animal?

Ha! You're kidding, right? "Party" and "animal" are never two words that were ever used for me.

11. Were you considered a flirt?

Nope. At least, don't think I was.

No. Not a flirt.

12. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?

I was in orchestra, choir and Pop Singers. Loved it.

13. Were you a nerd?

Yes, but back then I prefered the term geek. I was a theater / speech / music geek. At the time I thought that "nerd" was more for the socially awkward.

14. Did you get suspended or expelled?

Nope. I never got in trouble.

15. Can you sing the fight song?

Oh, God, yes. I still know every, single word. "Central! We sing to Central! To the finest in Da-KO-ta!"

I'm not proud of that.

16. Who was/were your favorite teacher(s)?

Mrs. Brown, taught me English and Theater, and was my director through many Central shows. I consider her one of my earliest mentors. Then there was Mrs. Tunseth, my speech coach... we called her "Mom"!

17. Where did you sit during lunch?

By senior year we were sick of the lunch room. Most of the time I walked downtown for a nutritious Coke and Snickers bar. Sometimes I switched it up for a Baby Ruth or Butterfinger.

18. What was your school's full name?

Grand Forks Central High School

19. When did you graduate?

1985

20. What was your school mascot?

We were the "Redskins". Political correctness wasn't yet in vogue. The mascot was an "Indian". It's since been changed to the "Knights". I've always wondered how that worked for the girls' teams?

21. If you could go back and do it again, would you?

Once was enough.

22. Did you have fun at Prom?

I never went to the Prom. I wasn't invited.

Instead, every year I had a party at my house for the girls I knew who didn't get invited either.

23. Do you still talk to the person you went to Prom with?

Nope!

24. Are you planning on going to your next reunion?

Eh. Don't know. With the exception of a very few people, I really didn't enjoy the last two.

25. Do you still talk to people from school?

Lately, more than I have in MANY years. The magic of Facebook.

So This is Why I Never Got into Modern Art

Your result for What Your Taste in Art Says About You Test...

Traditional, Vibrant, and Tasteful

Islamic art is developed from many sources: Roman, Early Christian, and Byzantine styles were taken over in early Islamic architecture; the architecture and decorative art of pre-Islamic Persia was of paramount significance; Central Asian styles were brought in with various nomadic incursions; and Chinese influences . Islamic art uses many geometical floral or vegetable designs in a repetitive pattern known as arabesque. It is used to symbolize the transcendent, indivisible and infinite nature of Allah.

People that like Islamic art tend to be more traditional people that appreciate keeping patterns that they learned and experienced from their past. It is not to say that they are not innovative personalities, they just do not like to let go of their roots. They like to put new ideas into details and make certain that they will work before sharing them with others. Failure is not something they like to think about because they are more interested in being successful and appreciated for their intelligence. These people can also be or like elaborate things in their life as long as they are tasteful. They tend to prefer geometric patterns and vibrant colors.

Rhapsody, Too is rapidly becoming my silliness blog, while Rhapsody is my serious blog. Eh, eventually I'll figure out my split personality. Until then...

If calories know no bounds? Potato chips, pretzels and onion dip.

2. If you were reincarnated as another creature, what would you be:
I'm waffling between a herd animal and a predator. Either a horse or a lion.

3. Who's your favorite red head?
My mom.

4. What do you order when you're at IHOP?
It's been a long time since I IHOPped. I'm not much for pancakes. I'm more of an omelet or eggs benedict kinda person.

5. Last book you read?

Love, friendship, trust, respect.

7. Describe the last time you were injured?
Can't remember. I don't get injured very often.

8. Of all your friends, who would you want to be stuck in a well with?
First, not Avindair. Not because he wouldn't be great to be stuck in a well with, but because I'd want one of us to be out of the well for the kids. (Always thinking...) Maybe Trees. She would be level headed, strong, and we'd get along until we were rescued or figured our way out.

9. Rock concert or symphony?
If I had to pick... symphony.

An image of the purple clematis flowers covering a trellis in my Mom's back yard.

This morning before I looked at all the websites we launched today.

It's hard to mispronounce my name. It's pretty basic. Misspellings on the other hand...

Your Love Life is Like The Princess Bride
"Since the invention of the kiss, there have only been five kisses that were rated the most passionate, the most pure. This one left them all behind."

For you, love is like a fairy tale - albeit a fairly twisted one.
You believe romance is all about loyalty, fate, and a good big of goofy fun.

Your love style: Idealistic yet quirky

Your Hollywood Ending Will Be: Perfectly romantic

Huh.

My original blog, Rhapsody, seems to be back up and running.

After what? Three? Four weeks?

Can't decide if I'll go back to Blogger or make LJ my permanent home. We'll see.

A Toothsome Week? Yes and No.

Crazy Lady
It's been a painful week for Clan Bruno.

Last Friday, our daughter, SportyGirl, took the plunge into the big, bad world of braces. There's nothing quite like the dental pain of a brand new mouth full of metal. The first night was spent in tears until about 300am. No meds I could give her did away with the hurt. We spent several days eating nothing but soft foods.

Last Monday, our son, LW*Adept, took the plunge into the big, bad world of dental surgery. To save the work we'd already done with braces, he had all four wisdom teeth removed. Between the sedation for surgery, the Ibuprofen, and the Vicodin, he spent most of the last three days sleeping. We continued eating nothing but soft foods.

I could kill for a crunchy kettle chip or a kitchen-sink pizza to sink my teeth into about now.

Despite all of that, we still managed to sneak in some good times in-between the ouches. SportyGirl and I explored the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum last Saturday and... wow. If you live in the Twin Cities area or visit occasionally, you have to see this place. Absolutely beautiful, open almost year-round, very inexpensive, and educational for families. We spent over four hours wandering just part of the 900 acres of garden displays and could have stayed longer.

Good news is that our dentally-challenged family is on the mend. SportyGirl can almost bite into a hamburger. LW*Adept's stiches should be dissolved in a few more days. This coming weekend everyone should be happy and healthy enough to tackle the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.

Turkey legs will still be a no-go, though.

(FYI - My regular blog is still down. LJ may become my new blog digs, after all.)

I know this post is a little late. The 2008 Minnesota Fringe Festival is already over.

My friend, Trees, and I made it to one show, "Bonnie Prince Charlie", that a couple of friends of mine were in. After the show, we met up with a couple more friends at Fringe Central where Mr. Chris snapped this great shot of Trees, myself and MLRF.

Plus, this is my first attempt at adding a pic to this blog!

After years of having a LiVEJOURNAL account just to post to friends' blogs, I'm trying it out as a blogging tool for myself. I have a longtime blog at another provider, which has been inaccessible for several days now. I've been trying all that time to get an answer to my questions, but it's been to no avail. So here I am, making my first real post at LJ.

So far I've loved the much greater variety of designs available, and I've always liked the way you can hide the full post behind a link (I just need to learn how). Plus, you can add more images and show a mood, location and music. Huh. I may just be a convert yet.
